How the catch works

Good expired domains are taken within seconds of the drop. A backorder puts you in line before that moment comes.

  1. 01

    Find it on the board

Sort by DR, referring domains, age or drop date. Check its history with the free tools linked on every list.

  2. 02

    Backorder for $15

Create a free account, add $15 to your wallet and place the backorder under My Domains → Domains Backorder. Works for .com and .net.

  3. 03

    Caught — or credited

If the domain is caught, it's yours. If not, the $15 stays in your account as credit for hosting or domains.

Questions before the drop

What is an expiring domain?

A registered domain whose owner did not renew it. After the grace and redemption periods the registry deletes it and it becomes available again — unless someone catches it with a backorder first.

What happens to my $15 if the domain is not caught?

It stays in your account as credit you can spend on hosting or domains.

When does an expired .com become available?

Usually after a grace period of up to 45 days, a 30-day redemption period and 5 days of pending delete. It is then deleted and can be registered again, often within minutes of the drop.

Do I need a credit card for the free hosting trial?

No. Every shared hosting plan starts with a 30-day free trial and no credit card is required — you only pay if you decide to keep the plan.

Are expired domains good for SEO?

They can be, when the backlinks are clean and relevant. Always check referring domains, anchor texts and the Wayback Machine history before you buy.
